One Sheet

HI-FIVE is an R&B/Pop group who released their first, self-titled album in 1990. The album went platinum and was produced by legendary producer Teddy Riley; it included hit singles “I Just Can’t Handle It” (R&B #10), “I Can’t Wait Another Minute” (Pop #8, R&B #1), and their biggest hit to date, “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)”, which went to #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the U.S. Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs Chart. The group was aggressively marketed by Jive records and was part of the “New Jack Swing” sound that dominated much of the early to mid-1990s urban contemporary radio format. The group’s single, “Too Young” was featured on John Singleton’s Boyz N The Hood, movie soundtrack. HI-FIVE’s second LP, “Keep It Goin’ On” was released in 1992. Songs from the album, include “She’s Playing Hard to Get” and “Quality Time,” written and produced by R. Kelly, which received major airplay and appeared on Billboards top 100 songs. In 1993, HI-FIVE’s third album “Faithful”, was released featuring the songs “Unconditional Love” from the Movie Menace to Society and “Never Should Have Let You Go” from Whoopi Goldberg’s’ Sister Act II movie. The group had 10 top singles on U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100. HI-FIVE enjoyed some mainstream success and were similar in design to R&B counterparts such as H-Town, Shai and perhaps most notably, Boyz II Men. In 2014 Hi-five released “Hi-Five The EP,” featuring songs “Kit Kat” and “Different kiss.”
